Runners Exercise: Step Ups

If you are a runner or someone who wants to strengthen their legs then this exercise is for you! Step ups are quick, simple, and can be done anywhere that you have access to a step or an elevated surface. To elevate this exercise, you may hold dumbbells or some sort of weight, only do that if you feel comfortable.

How-To Steps:

  1. Stand tall behind an elevated surface like a step, with one leg on the step.
  2. Start to lift your leg that is on the ground up, drive your knee into the air.
  3. At the same speed, lower the leg that is raised back down onto the ground in the same position that you started in. Try to perform 3 sets of 10 step ups! Be sure to switch legs when you are done!
