Butterfly Stretch

Butterfly Stretch

The butterfly stretch is a seated exercise that targets the inner thighs and hips. It helps improve flexibility in the hips and lower back while releasing tension caused by prolonged sitting. Practicing this stretch regularly can support better posture, increase mobility, and promote relaxation in the lower body.

How-To:

  1. Start by sitting on the floor with your spine straight and bring the soles of your feet together. Let your knees naturally fall out to the sides, forming a butterfly shape.
  2. Grab onto your ankles or shins and gently press your knees toward the floor using your elbows for a deeper stretch, if comfortable, while maintaining a straight back.
  3. Hold this position for up to two minutes and repeat 2-4 times.

*Never do an exercise that causes you pain*
