Big Toe Lifts

Foot pain is frequently the result of underlying weakness in the small muscles of the foot. Big Toe Lifts are a simple, highly effective exercise designed to rebuild that lost strength. It’s absolutely amazing how such a tiny, isolated movement can have a massive impact on the mechanics and health of your entire foot! Instead of just treating symptoms, Big Toe Lifts directly address the foot weakness that often leads to chronic discomfort.
How to:
- Sit comfortably in a chair with your bare foot resting entirely flat on the floor.
- Keeping your four smaller toes firmly planted, lift only your big toe up toward the ceiling and hold that top position.
- Slowly lower the big toe back to the floor and repeat the sequence for your desired number of reps.
Trouble getting it to move? That is completely normal at first! If you can’t lift the toe independently yet, use your fingers to gently guide and hold your big toe in the upward position. This helps train your brain and foot to establish that mind-muscle connection until you can do it unassisted.

*Never do an exercise that causes you pain
