Neck Stretch: Levator Scapula Stretch

The Neck Stretch for Levator Scapula
This neck stretch is a very easy, quick exercise to add to your day when your neck is feeling stiff or sore. We love this exercise after a long, busy day when we experience tension in our necks. The best part about this exercise is it can be done anywhere at any time! This exercise is great to get your neck muscle, levator scapula, moving and avoiding tightness.
How-To Steps:
- Sit at the edge of a chair that is a comfortable height for your feet to touch the ground.
- Tilt your head away from the sore side of your neck and rotate your chin down – as if you are smelling your armpit. Bring your arm up to your head to apply slight pressure downwards to assist the stretch.
- Hold this for 30 seconds if comfortable.
Protip: Grab onto the bottom of the chair or sit on your hand to increase the stretch further and to keep your shoulders from raising to your chin.

*Never do an exercise that causes you pain*
