Posture Exercise with Foam

Posture Exercise with Foam Roller
This simple posture exercise works great to counteract that forward “slouching” position we do too often. If you struggle with neck, upper back, and shoulder stiffness, then be sure to incorporate this into your day! The exercise works best if you have a foam roller but can also be done with a rolled-up towel to slide on a smooth surface. We recommend doing it periodically throughout your day if you are at a desk or feeling stiffness creep up on you. If this exercise aggravates any shoulder pain please avoid/discontinue this posture exercise.
How-To Steps:
- Sit nice and tall with your hands on a foam roller on top of a counter or table.
- Send your hands forward while you hinge through your hips. You should feel a good stretch in your shoulders, but also into the upper back.
*Hold the stretch for 5-10 seconds or slowly roll in and out of the stretch. Repeat 10 times as a nice break to get moving throughout the day!

*Never do an exercise that causes you pain*
