Prone Press-ups (aka McKenzie Press-ups)




This stretch is perfect for loosening up the lower back, improving posture, and reducing discomfort from daily activities. This exercise is typically used to address back pain especially when it is caused by disc issues as it encourages the disc material to move away from the nerves. This exercise also strengthens back and core muscles. Give it a try today!

How-To :

  1. Lie on your stomach: with your hands placed under your shoulders.
  2. Slowly press your upper body up, extending your arms, while keeping your hips and lower back on the floor
  3. Hold this position for a few seconds
  4. Slowly lower yourself back down to the starting position

Repeat this movement 8-10 times.
